Arsenal pre-season win against Ajax

I must admit that I am a bit conflicted with this game.

Both teams I enjoy and both teams are favorites of mine. Therefore, all I can do is provide a link to the game's recap.

Good luck to Arsenal and Ajax as you begin your seasons soon.

Gareth Barry saga continues...

Soccer outlets are now stating that George Gillett and Tom Hicks are not backing away from the tumultuous Gareth Barry.

When will the soap opera end? Unfortunately, not until the transfer window deadline passes.

I agree that Gareth Barry is a great player. However, why not pass him up. Anelka was available in January and Liverpool passed him up. Why not pass up Barry? Both players can be cancers to locker rooms.
Lift Wiltord Suspension

I must agree with Sylvain Wiltord that this issue should not have been published. This clearly breaks the "player-coach code" of "what-happens-in-the-locker-room-stays-in-the-locker-room" approach.

Adebayor begins building bridges

That's right... Building bridges, making friends, scoring goals and leading my team to victory!
Adebayor back in Arsenal´s good books

<$Hughes: New boy has point to prove$>

Ben-Haim definitely has a point to prove... especially against Chelsea.

Ben-Haim was a consistent player, but not exceptional. He held his own in an already established unit anchored by Ricardo Carvalho, Ashley Cole and John Terry.

Ben-Haim, go do your thing and fully establish yourself at Manchester City.

That's right Fergie! Watch out for the ever powerful Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool!

Aston Villa, Manchester City and Portsmouth should have exciting clubs this season too.

You only have a couple more years left Fergie. There is pressure to perform in your final seasons and plenty of clubs will be gunning to take you off your pedestal.

(Go Arsenal!)

Bolton are better off without Anelka, says Davies

Bolton are better off without Anelka, says Davies

Yes, Anelka had (and supposedly still has problems) relating with his teammates at all of his clubs.

His questionable personality is inconsistent at best.

However (and in some circles, unfortunately), modern football has become more about the bottom dollar and less about the game and team unity.

In other words, Davies, your words might seem harsh, but a large majority of Anelka's former teammates agree with you.

Let's go this year Gunners!

You shocked the world last year when you led Barclay's Premier League the first half of the season. The world was doubly as shocked when you fell by the wayside and finished in 3rd place.

This summer provided you all with loads of experience. Plenty of you did well in Euro 2008. Take that great experience, mature and play the beautiful football you have been known to play.
